POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Polk County Sheriff's investigators arrested a 70-year-old Livingston man on a felony possession of child porn charge. The man was allegedly a part of a large-scale child pornography ring believe to have involved more than 33 individual e-mail accounts.
Key was booked into the Polk County Jail on Nov. 6. Key was released from the jail the next day after he posted a $10,000 bail.
Acting on information they received from the FBI, PCSO investigators obtained a search warrant for Key's home, according to a press release East Texas News obtained on Nov. 17. A press release stated that Key was one of 33 people in various different states and countries suspected of receiving and or distributing sexually explicit photographs and videos of children.
"During a search of Key's home computers a large number of child pornography images and videos were discovered by detectives," the press release stated. "Due to the evidence discovered, Key was arrested at that time and charged with Possession of child pornography."
Additional criminal charges could be pending after a computer crime lab analyzes Key's computer, the press release stated.
