Lufkin police release ID of man who died after altercation

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Lufkin police have released the name of a Lufkin man who died following an altercation Wednesday on Glenn Avenue.

Jewell Swint Jr., 30, died at a Lufkin hospital.

Police say Swint was involved in an altercation at a home in the 1000 block of Glenn Avenue. Police responded to the hospital around 2:30 p.m. He was reported to be suffering from blunt force trauma to the head.

Police searched the home after getting a search warrant and interviewed multiple people involved. Not charges have yet been filed.

 Swint has a lengthy criminal record, including arrests for drug charges and child indecency.
