If you have had too much to drink on New Year's Eve, do not try to drive home. There are some free services being offered around the area to get you and your car home safely.
Two towing companies will get you home. The "Atkinson Towing Arrive Alive" program will pick up anyone in Angelina County and take them directly to their home as long as they live in Angelina County.
Atkinson will picking up folks from 6:00 pm New Year's Eve night until 6:00 am the next morning. You can call (936) 632-8580 for the service.
Joey's Towing in Nacogdoches will be offering what is called "Tipsy Tow." They will pick you up within the city limits of Nacogdoches and take you home as long as you live in the city limits.
Rides will be given from 5:00 pm New Year's Eve night until midnight January 2nd. This includes rides on New Years Day. You can contact Joey's at (936) 560-4159 or you can call AAA at 1-(888)-395-5529 for a ride.
Remember the rides are free. Getting caught driving drunk could cost you thousands of dollars and land you in jail.
Meanwhile, if you are looking for something to do New Year's Eve there are a couple of events in East Texas you should know about.
The Fredonia Hotel in Nacogdoches is hosting The 16th Annual Fredonia Hotel/Tom Houston Gala. The couple's $125 package includes a dinner buffet, champagne, a midnight snack, and party favors. There is also a couple's $75 package that doesn't include dinner. Dinner starts at 6:30 p.m.
Jitterbugs in Nacogdoches will also have a New Year's celebration. The doors open at 8:00 p.m. There is a $10 cover charge.
