LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Dequisha Jackson and Isaiah Toliver were accused of endangering a child after their two-month-old infant died from malnutrition in 2013.
The baby weighed in at only five pounds and six ounces, which is nearly half the weight he should have been at his age.
The trial has been reset with request for experts and photographs from the autopsy.
On Tuesday, the prosecutor and attorney met to confirm a trial date. The judge also confirmed that everyone, including a pathologist detained by one of the defendants, would be available for that date.
Jackson and Toliver will be tried at the same time, so the court will allow twelve strikes instead of the traditional six.
The trial is set for December 15th.
