LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Black Friday campers began their Thanksgivings with a countdown.
One couple is first in line at Best Buy. They are cold, but they say it's too late to go home now. Last year, they came without chairs or blankets. This time, they have the hang of Black Friday camping.
"We've been here since yesterday about six," said Hawkins.
The Best Buy sales paper is loaded with deals that will only come by once a year, but most people bundled up in this line had their eyes on one prize.
"A fifty inch TV for 199.99,"said Hawkins.
"My main thing is buy that TV for him. That's why I'm here," said Lopez, on buying a TV for his father.
Lopez and many other shoppers camped out not for themselves, but to buy gifts for family members this Christmas.
"He always wanted a big TV, so I'm going to try to get one for him,"said Lopez.
"We're going to get two TVs, two tablets, and two Samsung Realm phones,"said Megan.
All shoppers were prepared with food, wireless phone chargers, and plenty blankets. As far as the rushes that come along with Black Friday shopping, they say the deals are worth it and they aren't afraid.
"You can't live life by fear. You have to let it roll I guess,"said Hawkins.
"200 dollars plus shipping. That's a good birthday present, and a good Christmas present the same time. That's what I think. I hope he likes it!" said Lopez.
Black Friday shoppers say there are only twenty TVs up for grabs and there seems to already be twenty people in line, but they expect the line to continue to grow.
