LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Angelina County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 19-year-old Lufkin woman on Sunday after she allegedly punched her aunt's 6-year-old daughter in the cheek during an ongoing family feud that occurred at a residence in the 200 block of Bailey Street.
Selena Marie Wells is still being held in the Angelina County Jail on a state-jail felony injury to a child - reckless bodily injury charge. No bail has been set at this time.
According to the Angelina County Sheriff's Office activity report, deputies were dispatched out to Bailey Street at approximately 7:14 p.m. Sunday in reference to an assault in progress. When they arrived at the scene, they were met by a woman, who was later identified as Wells, and she allegedly told them that she was ready to go to jail because she was "tired of all the drama."
When the victim showed up at Wells' home,Wells went to punch her, but the victim ducked and got on the floor, according to the activity report. When Wells tried to punch her aunt again, her aunt's 6-year-old daughter got in the way "to protect" her mom, and Wells allegedly punched the girl in the cheek.
The activity report said Wells also punched her aunt as well.
Wells was arrested at the scene and taken to the Angelina County Jail.
