LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The Lufkin Rotary Club's annual waffle bake kicks off Tuesday, and this year, there is even more time to enjoy the breakfast feast.
The organization will be serving three days instead of just two in order to give more back to the community to celebrate their 80th anniversary.
It's the club's main fundraiser and tradition to kick off the holiday season. You can also enjoy Christmas entertainment and bring a toy to donate to Toys for Tots.
"The funds raised from the waffle bake go to a lot of different things," said Valena Spradley, the chair of the Lufkin Rotary Club's waffle bake. "We give scholarships to local students, we help the zoo, and this year, we've chosen the Meals on Wheels to donate a portion to as well."
The waffle bake starts Tuesday, and the waffle irons will stay busy through Thursday in the Angelina College cafeteria. They will start serving at 5 p.m. and go until 7:30 each night. The cost is $5 for adults and $4 for kids.
