Swearing in ceremonies for Angelina County officials took place Friday afternoon. Their oath won't officially take affect until 12:01, January 1st, but for all practical purposes they're ready to serve.
In fact, newly elected commissioner Robert Loggins has been serving Precinct 3 unofficially for five weeks. His defeated opponent, Alan Sumners is familiarizing him with the new office.
Robert Loggins said,"Alan told me whenever he took office he didn't have any help and he said if he ever got beat that he wouldn't be that way to whomever went in office. He wanted to help them out all he could and it's been really helpful for me."
others taking their oath were two new constables and twelve re-elected officials.
