LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Officials and staff of the Family Crisis Center family gathered today for a special celebration.
The group had its groundbreaking at what will be the new Family Crisis thrift store location.
The new shop will be near Walmart off of highway 59-South. The original location was on Timberland Street, but the Crisis Center did not own the building.
The Family Crisis Chair says it's a big step for the group, as most of their operations are financed through the thrift store.
"With the help of TLL Temple and others who have a love for people who need help, we're able today to break ground and see that dream we've been planning for three years. It's fabulous...it's wonderful,"said McReynolds.
The Family Crisis Center will own the new facility, and are expecting to see more business at this location.
