POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Onalaska Police officers arrested a Polk County man after he posted pictures from an acquaintance's phone on social media while pretending to be her.
According to Cpt. John Maddox, a few days before Thanksgiving, Justin Larkins, of Onalaska got into an argument with the acquaintance at his home.
"In the argument, Larkin grabbed her and choked her, saying he was going to kill her," Maddox said.
Maddox said the woman was able to get free and dialed 911.
"While she was on the phone, Larkin's allegedly knocked the phone out of her hand," Maddox said.
Maddox said the case was being investigated, and during that time, Larkin's took the sim card from the cell phone and posted intimate pictures of the two on to social media.
"He was pretending to be her, and he hacked in and posted the photos," Maddox said. "There was nothing illegal about the pictures. They were consenting adults. The pictures just should have never been posted. They were meant to be private."
Larkins is charged with assault of a family member at least twice in 12 months, assault by impeding breath, criminal mischief, two charges of improper photography, interfering with an emergency call, online impersonation, terroristic threat, and unlawful restraint. He is being held in the Polk County Jail on a $122,500 bond.
