Alto ready to face their own style of play against Centerville

The Alto Yellowjackets may be holding a mirror against themselves in their regional final matchup against Centerville.

Like Alto, Centerville is able to put up a scary amount of points on the board and have a similar style of play. They are physical and have a run-at-you mentality.

This has obviously worked very well for Alto and they said that it will be critical for them to be able to shut down the run game in Friday's game.

“We definitely got to make sure we're lined up to their formation correctly and then we've got to tackle, we've got to wrap up well, and we've got to swarm the football,” said head coach Paul Gould. “We need to win the first down battle. We don't need it to be second and third. It needs to be second and nine, or second and right.”

“We need to be physical on defense,” said senior Jyran Shaw. “They told us it's going to be a defensive game. We're going to score points on offense too but defense wins championships. We have to be physical, very physical this week on defense and we'll get the win.”

Game will start at 7:30 Friday night at Palestine's Wildcat Stadium.
