Nacogdoches County woman allegedly assaults family member and sheriff's deputy

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - A Nacogdoches County woman is behind bars after allegedly assaulting a family member and sheriff's deputy.

Just after midnight, 41-year-old Angela Maresca was arrested, stemming from a disturbance in Garrison.

"Maresca was allegedly drunk and started fighting with her significant other," said Bridges. "As things got heated, Maresca's stepdaughter tried to leave the house with her child, and that's when Maresca turned her attention towards her stepdaughter."

Sheriff's officials say that when deputies arrived, Maresca was in her car with her dog.

"As deputies approached Maresca, she told her dog to attack them. She then threw a beer bottle at them, which hit one of the deputies." Bridges said.

Maresca was arrested and charged with one count of assault bodily injury family violence, aggravated assault against a public servant and resisting arrest search or transportation.
