ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Angelina County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 28-year-old man who had allegedly been standing in someone's yard and screaming before he ran from them, broke into a nearby house, and tried to hide from them Monday night.

Randy Lynn Gray, of Lufkin, is still being held in the Angelina County Jail on three Class A misdemeanor charges - criminal trespass-habitation, resisting arrest, and public intoxication. A bail amount of $500 has been set for the public intoxication charge.

According to the ACSO activity report, deputies responded to a house in the 200 block of Reed Street at approximately 8:30 p.m. Monday in reference to a 911 call about a man standing in a yard and screaming.

When the deputies arrived on the scene, the man, who was later identified as Gray, allegedly ran screaming into the woods behind the home. The activity report said the ACSO deputies followed the sound of Gray's voice to a residence on Hayes Street.

A woman met the deputies outside her home and told them that a man had broken through her kitchen window and entered her home. After the deputies went inside the home, they allegedly found Gray trying to crawl under a bed in one of the home's bedrooms.

Gray allegedly resisted arrest before the deputies took him into custody. He was taken to the Angelina County Jail.
