The Stephen F. Austin women's basketball team has got one of their toughest games ahead of them. Next on the schedule is Baylor.
While this will be a huge test for the entire team, it will be a special homecoming for one player in particular.
She was last year's most valuable player and etched her name into the record books by becoming the all-time blocks leader at SFA. Prosha Roberts, the Waco, Texas native, will be playing in her hometown for the first time in her collegiate career.
It will be no easy task taking down the number 9 ranked Baylor Bears, but for all the senior has done for the women's basketball program, head coach Brandon Schneider made sure Roberts could get one last chance to play in front of her hometown.
“Being that she's from Waco, she's done a tremendous amount for our program throughout her career, and know that Baylor is a top 10 team, we felt like it would be something that would be great for our team obviously, but just something nice to do for her and her family,” said Schneider.
“It feels good playing in front of my family, my hometown, and especially in front of my family who don't get to travel and see my games on the road. They can come to that game and it just feels good,” said Roberts. “I appreciate Coach Brandon for doing that.”
The two teams tip off Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.
