Tenaha Tigers utilizing Homer Bryce Stadium as backdrop in State Semifinal

TENAHA, TX (KTRE) -

We are one day out from seeing the Tenaha Tigers fight for a trip to the State Finals at AT&T Stadium, but first they must get past Bremond who are the second undefeated team Tenaha has had to face this playoff season.

A huge advantage the Tigers see in this game is playing at Homer Bryce Stadium, the home of the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks.

Clearly every team is fighting to move on, but you can bet players will be taking advantage of the opportunity playing in front of college coaches.

“I'm trying to get a scholarship every game so I'll definitely be playing my hardest to earn that,” said senior quarterback T.J. Thomas.

The Tigers will also have travel as an advantage in this game, as they will be playing in their own backyard.

“One of the reasons I'd like to play at SFA is to hopefully have all the locals come out and support us,” said head coach Terry Ward. “I'd love to have that home side packed. I know it's a big stadium, but there's a lot of people who root for Tenaha so hopefully we have a bunch of people rooting for us and give us that extra boost that we need.”

The game will be kicking off at 7:30 Friday night.
