'Grinch' ruins Christmas for Trinity family by stealing kids' presents

TRINITY, TX (KTRE) -

A Grinch ruined Christmas for a Trinity family Tuesday. According to the Trinity Police Department's Facebook page, a burglar broke into a house in the 300 block of Walker Street and took most of a family's Christmas gifts.

The Trinity PD Facebook page stated that during broad daylight, the suspect or suspects entered the family's house and took most of the Christmas gifts for three boys, ages 10, 11, and 13. Some of the items taken were an Xbox 360 console, 10 Xbox games, headphones, three MP3 players, cologne, a ping pong table, and other items.

To add insult to injury the suspect or suspects tore the wrapping paper off the other gifts, leaving them exposed.

“The look on the kids' faces was pure devastation” Officer Randy Wheeler said in the Facebook Post. “The mother was visibly upset but was able to compose herself in front of the kids. I pray that God will bless this family and make it a great Christmas despite this incident.”

If anyone has any information on this burglary or wants to ask about helping this family out, he or she should call the Trinity Police Department at (936) 594-2505.
