Lufkin PD looking for suspect involved in armed robbery of Lufkin donut shop

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin Police are seeking help in identifying a suspect that robbed a Lufkin donut shop at gunpoint Friday morning.

Lt. Mike Shurley said that around 6 a.m. Friday, a black male entered DeeDee's Donuts in the 2200 block of E. Denman, showing the owner a handgun and demanding money.

"The suspect attempted to open the cash register, but after he was unable to do so, the owner opened it," Shurley said. "The suspect also demanded the owner's cell phone."

Shurley said it is believed the suspect fled by foot towards the loop and Denamn. The suspect is described as a black male, wearing a black hoodie with gray stripes and blue jeans. Witnesses described him as being between 5'2'' and 5'5''. He is described as medium build with a tattoo on the right side of his face.
