SHELBY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A group of five joined a wanted man in jail Monday after they refused to admit he was hiding in their home, according to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office.

Dustin Estes is charged with state-jail felony burglary and for a Rusk County warrant for bond surrender. Taunua Renee Amburn, Linda Ann Parent, Taylor Kathleen Hodges, Austin Bryan Estes and Dakota Lee Amburn are each charged with third-degree hindering apprehension.

According to a press release, deputies went to a home located on County Road 4624 to find Dustin Estes. People in the home said he was not in the home, but his mother, Tanua Amburn, gave them permission to search it.

An investigator asked everyone inside if Estes was in the home and let them know he had a warrant and that if he was found in the home, they would be arrested for hindering apprehension. Everyone said Estes was not in the home, according to the press release.

The investigator reported finding Estes in a back bedroom, hiding under a large pile of clothes.
