LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The man featured in this week's Crime of the Week story surrendered himself to authorities at the Angelina County Jail early Tuesday morning.
"I suspect that his surrender was due to the pressure of seeing his image in the media and possibly knowing that others would call Crime Stoppers," said Det. J.B. Smith, a spokesman for Lufkin Crime Stoppers.
Jarred Ty'Veon Hunt, 20, is still being held in the Angelina County Jail on a revocation of probation for a state-jail felony possession of a controlled substance charge. No bail has been set at this time.
Hunt was wanted in connection to his April 2013 arrest and conviction for possession of a controlled substance. According to a Lufkin Crime Stoppers press release, Hunt has also been arrested for assault-family violence, possession of marijuana, possession of dangerous drugs, and possession of a controlled substance.
