Lufkin PD searching for suspect in Lunch Box robbery

Lufkin Police officers are looking for the man who allegedly robbed the Lunch Box restaurant on the loop Monday morning.

According to the police report, a Lufkin Police officer responded to a 911 call about a robbery at the Lunch Box, which is located at 1014 S. John Redditt Drive at 6:56 a.m.

When the officer made contact with the owner of the business, the man said a black man armed with a black and silver handgun entered the business and walked around the counter to the cash register where he was standing. The business owner said that the suspect demanded the money from the cash registers and asked where the safe was located.

After the business owner handed the suspect $150 from the drive-through register, the owner explained the drive-through register didn't have a till and that they don't have a safe, the police report stated.

The suspect then allegedly grabbed the business owner's iPhone from the counter by the drive-through window and started walking south on the sidewalk toward Little Caesar's Pizza.

The suspect was described as a black man who was approximately 5-foot-7 and was wearing a dark-colored toboggan, a grayish jacket with a hood, and dark-colored pants.

Anyone with any information about this robbery is urged to contact the Lufkin Police Department at (936) 633-0356.
