TRINITY, TX (KTRE) - Trinity County Commissioner Rich Chamberlin is a commissioner with a cause, as he and his team broke ground on Lake L Drive, off FM 356 Wednesday afternoon.
The commissioner admits that construction on this area has been requested for some time.
The new roadway project is being directly supported from Trinity County's Hurricane Ike 2.2 funding.
Wednesday's construction consisted of clearing and prepping for the contractors that are scheduled to complete the repair.
"They're going to lay down additional road materials, make it a very good all weather road," Smith said. "They'll also be doing the same thing in other parts of Trinity County and the other three precincts."
Smith says he is looking forward to making this road a safer and easier drive for the citizens of Trinity County.
