LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Despite having a hard freeze over night, many East Texas plumbers said there was not an issue.
Both Truss and Son Plumbing in Lufkin and Nacogdoches Sheet Metal and Plumbing said they had no calls Thursday in reference to busted pipes. It was something that did not surprise them.
"Temperatures need to get down and stay there for a couple of days before you get busted pipes," said Truss and Son supervisor Raymond Dulaney.
Plumbers believe another reason for the low call level was a prepared East Texas.
"When people have an issue with busted pipes, they usually don't make the same mistake twice, and they usually go through and get all the preparations done," said Nacogdoches Sheet Metal and Plumbing owner Jason Bradford.
Bradford said that even though there was not an issue today, that doesn't mean there can't be one tomorrow.
"Anytime you have 32 degree temperatures, you're susceptible to freezing," Bradford said.
"It can vary from just a little service call to several hours of fixing busted pipes re-piping houses," Dulaney said.
