LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Meet the Thanksgiving Day puppies! These seven-week old black mouth cur-Chinese Shar-Pei mix dogs are so cute with all their wrinkles.
"They were born here at the shelter. We did birth them and they were born with coccidia which is a very serious disease similar to parvo," said Scott Nunn, Executive director of Winnie Berry Humane Society.
These little guys have had a rough first couple of weeks of life, and they are just total survivors and are waiting to get into loving homes, so they can live out their lives happy and healthy.
"We've got them all clear and ready to go for adoption," Nunn said.
There were a total of nine puppies, but two have already been adopted. There are four boys and three girls left. They will have their second round of shots next week and then will be ready to go home.
"They're just as cute and socialized as they can be," Nunn said. "We've got lots of wrinkles to go around for everybody here in our community. With a lot of work and enough love these puppies will grow up to be happy and healthy for a very long time."
As with any puppies, they will require some patience, ,and lots of love and attention. If you want one of these puppies to join your family, call Winnie Berry Humane Society at (936) 639-1880.
