NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Nacogdoches County game wardens wrote tickets for a man's wife and his uncle at the same time after each were caught hunting illegally.
According to the Texas Parks & Wildlife game warden notes, two wardens noticed a man cleaning a deer, which was not tagged, in his garage. The man said he had taken the tag off and put it in his wallet so that he wouldn't lose it. He then said his wife had taken his wallet to the store.
Wardens waited for the wife to come home and were able to to determine the wife shot the deer, even though she did not have a license.
During this time, the man's uncle came to the house and told wardens he had shot a doe earlier. He said his hunting license was at his house with the deer, but wardens determined he did not have a license.
The deer meat was donated and citations were issued for antler restrictions and criminal trespassing.
