LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Investigators with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice's Office of the Inspector General arrested a Lufkin woman Monday in connection to allegations that she had an improper sexual relationship with an inmate at the Stiles Unit in Beaumont.
Terra Nicole Crawford was booked into the Angelina County jail on a felony charge of improper sexual act with a person in custody. She was released later Monday after she posted a bail amount of $10,000.
Jason Clark, a TDCJ spokesman, said that Crawford, a former correctional officer, resigned in April 2014 after an investigation into allegations that she had an improper relationship with an inmate at the Stiles Unit. She started working for the prison system in April 2011.
