Lufkin Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week: LPD looking for leather thief

LUFKIN, TX (News Release) - Crime Stoppers wants to pay you for identifying thieves.

January 17th, cameras inside Fuel City, located in the 1900 block of East Denman Avenue in Lufkin, captured video of a dark-haired man carefully selecting several leather vests from a display rack and then walking out of the store without paying. A customer witnessed the crime and notified employees but the suspect had already reached his vehicle and left the area before anyone could stop him.

This case shares several similarities with another theft from two days earlier when a male suspect stole a leather jacket but video of that crime is not available.

In both crimes, the suspect is male, stole leather clothing from Fuel City, and fled the scene in a minivan. Witnesses to the first theft described the suspect as a slender man, approximately six feet tall, with blond hair, and fuzzy facial hair. The video of the second theft shows a tall, slim, dark-haired man wearing a dark jacket and pants, and what might be slide-style sandals and white socks.
