Lufkin man wins $7.5 million with Texas Lotto ticket

Trevathan Adams of Lufkin claimed a $7.5 million top prize in the Texas Lottery® scratch-off, Millionaires Club. For selling the winning ticket, the H-E-B Food Store #617 in Lufkin is eligible for a retailer bonus of $10,000.

Adams graduated from Lufkin High School in 2010.

With more than $137 million in total prizes, the Millionaires Club features overall odds of one in 2.51, including break-even prizes. Adams claimed the second of three top prizes in the game. In addition to the one remaining top prize, 52 second-tier prizes of $10,000 each currently remain unclaimed.

Beginning with the first ticket sold in 1992, the Texas Lottery has generated $22 billion in revenue for the state and distributed $44 billion in prizes to lottery players.

Since 1997, the Texas Lottery has contributed $17 billion to the Foundation School Fund, which supports public education in Texas. As authorized by the Texas Legislature, certain Texas Lottery revenues benefit state programs including the Fund for Veterans' Assistance.
