POLLOK, TX (KTRE) - Wednesday is National Signing Day, but for Central's Brittany Caswell, she knocked out her signing Tuesday. Caswell will be taking her talents to Odessa Junior College.
The shortstop is a four-year letter winner who helped the Lady Bulldogs make it as far as the fourth round of playoffs her sophomore year.
Her coaches said they weren't the least bit surprised seeing her get picked up.
"She has all the good qualities you're looking for in a softball player. She has a good arm, good base speed, she's a good hitter, smart defensive player, those are definitely the qualities college coaches look for," said Central head softball coach Anna Whiddon.
"It definitely feels real now. You get committed and it feels great and everything, but now it's real," said Caswell. "You're finally committing to something and you're finally doing what you've dreamed of your whole life."
Caswell said she is looking to study nutrition, and may extend her softball career depending on how her first two years go at Odessa.
