ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A hazardous materials team is in the process of cleaning up a big mess that occurred on U.S. Highway 59 north when a truck hauling chicken parts overturned and spilled its load early Thursday morning.
According to a press release from the Texas Department of Transportation, the accident occurred at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday. The initial report said a truck full of chicken parts overturned on the northbound side of Highway 59 near the intersection of FM 2021 and spilled its load. However, authorities on scene said there was no accident.
As of about 10:30 a..m and the Hazmat team was finishing up with cleaning the chicken parts from the highway.
Traffic was diverted onto the shoulder of the northbound side of Highway 59 until the spilled load was cleared.
