An accident on Highway 59 North between Lufkin and Nacogdoches, ended with a police chase and one person behind bars.
DPS officers on the scene say the woman driving a silver Ford pickup was involved in an accident near the Angelina River bridge Sunday evening. She decided not to stop, and police began their chase shortly.
The woman led police down several roads before she went attempted to go around a curve on County Road 226. Police finally caught up with her after she hit a culvert and went airborne several feet before getting stuck in the mud. She also kicked the back window out of a patrol car.
