TRINITY, TX (KTRE) - A Trinity police officer arrested a 31-year-old Mexican citizen for allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl.
Fernando Miranda is still being held in the Trinity Police Department Jail on a second-degree felony sexual assault of a child charge. No bail amount has been set because Miranda is a Mexican citizen with a passport and is considered a flight risk.
According to Trinity Police Chief Steve Jones a person got concerned when he or she received texts from the 15-year-old victim, who thought she was pregnant. The person then contacted Officer Donald Givens with the Trinity Police Department.
The Trinity PD launched an investigation and interviewed the victim at her school.
Miranda was arrested at 108 Calvin Thursday.
"Even if you just suspect something is going on, please report it, so that we can carry out the rest," Jones said.
