JASPER, TX (KTRE) - Jasper police officers arrested a woman accused of running her boyfriend off the road with her car last week.
According to Chief Robert MacDonald, a Kirbyville off-duty officer happened to be driving in the area when he caught it all on his dash camera.
MacDonald said the video shows Sharon McColeman, 46, rear end her boyfriend off US Highway 96, near East Houston Street.
McColeman is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The boyfriend asked her to move to Texas with him, only to tell her he no longer wanted to be in a relationship with her, according to the police report.
The report states McColeman said as she was driving, she saw him and got angry all over again. She then ran into the back of her boyfriend's vehicle, sped up to to drive beside him, and then hit the side of his vehicle in an attempt to run him off the road, according to the report.
He then slammed on his brakes, which caused McColeman to swerve in front of him and crash her vehicle in the ditch.
Although the boyfriend said he did not want to file charges, police decided to because family violence did occur, according to the report.
