NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Nacogdoches police have arrested a Houston man accused of kicking a napping man out of a van and driving off with it before getting stopped in Angelina County early Wednesday.

Jimmy Djuan Coffman, 19, is charged with first-degree aggravated robbery.

According to a police report, a man had parked his van at a closed business in the 3500 block of South Street at 3:05 a.m. to take a nap. The man was awakened by breaking glass and Coffman getting into the van and kicking the man out, according to the report.

Coffman drove the van south on South Street and minutes later was spotted by a Nacogdoches County deputy driving on US 59 south. Law enforcement were able to end the chase by using tire spikes and arrested Coffman, according to the report.

The victim suffered minor injuries to his arm.

Deputies with the Angelina County Sheriff's Office assisted in the chase.
