TRINITY, TX (KTRE) -

A woman wound up inside a Trinity church early Tuesday morning after the car she, a man, and a four month old were traveling in left the road, clipped a pole, and rolled over.

Trinity Police Chief Steve Jones said the accident occurred at about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. The car ended up against the church.

Jones said the man and woman were thrown from the car. The man landed on the ground, and the woman went through one of the church's windows.

"I was really perplexed. I was confused," said Pastor Emmit Lewis, when he heard of the accident.

The couple had a baby in a car seat in the vehicle with them. Jones said the baby was okay even though the car seat was hanging by only one side of the seat belt after the rollover accident."God knows I'm praying for them," Lewis said.

The Trinity Chapel Church happens to be a historic building. Pastor Lewis says it's 136 years old.

Lewis says he has a love for the church which has helped to provide several scholarships.

"It has been a real help for this community," Lewis said.

Although there are few members, he's picked it up and got it going again with his own money. The church was hit hard enough to damage the 2x4s, and historic buildings are expensive to preserve. Pastor Lewis says he will accept any help he can to fix the church.

"We need it now if we ever needed it before," Lewis said.

He is reaching out to anyone who can help be it financial or in any other way. Today, the cost of the damages were being determined.

The Pastor and Cloud's family exchanged prayers and numbers Wednesday.

"She will always be a part of me. Even if she tries to deny me. She will always be in my prayers ever since she came through this church," Lewis said.

People in the community say they believe God makes no mistakes, and Cloud landed in the church for a reason.
