LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin man is being treated for what appear to be minor injuries following a wreck into two trees on Lufkin Avenue Thursday morning.
The wreck occurred near the intersection of Renfro Drive around 7:45 a.m.
According to Officer Randy Stallard, a witness said they heard a pop and watched a westbound Dodge Challenger, driven by Orlando Tamez, swerve from the outside lane and go all the way across the other side and hit a tree and rolled several times.
The car took out two cedar trees.
Tamez was walking around after the wreck, but was taken to a Lufkin hospital as a precaution.
Stallard said because the witness heard a pop, it is possible Tamez's car suffered a blowout or broken axle and he will not be cited.
