NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Deep East Texas will continue to teach "just say no" to their students thanks to money from a statewide group.

On Friday, Healthy Nacogdoches received training from the Texans Standing Tall Coalition. The goal is to make alcohol, tobacco and other drugs irrelevant in the lives of Texas youth.

“They are trying to create a healthier community, so they have goals and measurements that they need to reach and they are working in unison to accomplish that,” said Kelly McCaffery, the manager of the Texas Standing Tall Coalition.

The two communities are in the second year of a five-year grant.

The biggest accomplishment is establishing "smoke free zones" throughout the cities.
