Big Nac Music Festival kicks off day 2 with free pre-party

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Big Nac Music Festival kicked off their second day with a pre-party at the Banita Creek Hall.

The party was sponsored by Brookshire Brothers and was free of charge. Organizers said they targeted the party towards college students as a way for them to take a break from studying for midterms and to come out and enjoy the festival. Many of the students that came out were appreciative of the free party.

"I think it's really nice, we have midterms and stuff like that going on this week," said SFA senior Amanda Baker.  "A lot of students aren't able to come out to things like this when they cost a lot so when they have a party just for us it's definitely really great."

While many college students where in attendance, people of all ages came out to enjoy the party.

Attendees enjoyed live music from Whiskey Shivers and free merchandise from vendors like Illy, Metro PCS, Zico, and Jack Link's Beef Jerky.

The festival will continue through Sunday. For venue or concert information, you can visit Big Nac's website at
