Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week: Partners in Crime

From Lufkin Crime Stoppers

February 27, 2015, two men driving a Nissan Altima worked together to steal cash from a car lot on Atkinson Drive in Lufkin.

Around 3:40 that Friday afternoon, the suspects parked their dark red, four-door 2013 or newer Altima on the side of the car lot's office and one of the men asked the lone employee to show him a vehicle. That suspect, a black male wearing tennis shoes, baggy jeans, a gray t-shirt over a white long-sleeve shirt, and a red baseball cap, picked a vehicle in the far corner of the lot and led the employee to it.

When the employee left the office, another suspect ran from the Altima and entered the building. The second suspect, also a black male, wore white tennis shoes, baggy jeans, a white shirt under a reddish jacket, and a red, floppy-brim hat.

Videos show that the suspects likely used mobile phones to coordinate their movements. When the second suspect left the building, several thousand dollars was missing from cash boxes, and the first suspect no longer had interest in the vehicle for sale.

At www.DETCS.tips, you can view portions of the car lot videos showing both suspects and their vehicle.
