SAN AUGUSTINE COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

In San Augustine, about 30 middle school to college students are spending their spring break making home repairs.

The teens are members of Next Step Ministries, a non-profit group that conducts mission work around the country. Former mission team members from San Augustine asked the Wisconsin-based group to come to East Texas.

“And they figured that after working in so many communities they should bring it back to their own community because there is so much going on around here that could use help and could use Christ's love and inspire a little more,” said Hannah Thorn with Next Step Ministries.

Next Step Ministries is planning on coming back to San Augustine this summer for two months. Then three months for every summer for the next 10 years.
