TRINITY, TX (KTRE) - Trinity police and sheriff's department arrested a suspect in a shooting on Main Street in early February. After receiving enough information, authorities executed a warrant at 48-year-old Brent Singleton's home.
Chief Steven Jones said he is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Singleton was sitting in his truck when authorities arrived. While executing the warrant, officials found several weapons, drug paraphernalia, and prescription medications. No additional charges have been filed at the time.
Jones said they received a report of a shooting on the 400 block of Main Street. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Though he was coherent and able to talk, he did suffer serious injuries.
Jones said the man identified the shooter as someone with the nickname "Rev" and that they were arguing over a woman.
Jones said the victim was taken by ambulance to a Trinity hospital, then flown to a Tyler hospital. He survived his injuries.
