ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

The Angelina County Sheriff's Office has found the 15-year-old Lufkin girl who has been missing since March 14.

Angelina County Sheriff Greg Sanches said that Cheyenne Hardesty was found safe and sound with a friend in the Corrigan area a short time after the story ran on the KTRE Website Monday afternoon.

Sanches said the friend did not know that Hardesty was missing. He said the friend thought it was OK for Hardesty to be with them.

As soon as the friend saw the story on KTRE's Facebook page, he or she called Hardesty's mother. At that point, the girl's mother called the Angelina County Sheriff's Office and told deputies where they could meet the friend to pick up the girl.

ACSO deputies met the pair at the Polk's store in Diboll to pick the girl up.
