Goodwill says your spring cleaning helps employees

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Now that spring is here, Lufkin Goodwill's representatives say what better way to get rid of your "spring cleaning" items than to donate them.

The Goodwill on Hill Street is accepting donations and encouraging everyone to stop there and drop off  spring cleaning items.

Clothing, furniture, household items, and several other things are acceptable.

The revenue supports employees within the "Donated Goods Program" who have disabilities or barriers to employment.

"Your donations provide revenue for us when we sell them in our stores and that goes directly into our program," said Erica Cook, Goodwill's executive director.

If you'd like to donate, there are two "attended" donation centers. One is behind the Goodwill Store, and the other in the Belk's parking lot in Lufkin.
