NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Nacogdoches Police officers arrested a 40-year-old man Wednesday in connection to allegations that he got into a fight with his 77-year-old uncle at a house on Orton Street and repeatedly struck him in the head and face.
Germaine Lydell Edwards, of Nacogdoches, is still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail on a third-degree felony injury to elderly charge and two Class A misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury charges. Collectively, his bail has been set at $25,000.
According to the arrest affidavit, the fight took place at a house in the 900 block of Orton Street at about 3 p.m. Wednesday. When Edwards got into the fight with his uncle and hit him repeatedly in the face and head, it caused injury, the affidavit stated.
The affidavit stated that when family members arrived on the scene, Edwards began assault them as well. Edwards allegedly admitted to police that he lost control and assaulted three of his family members.
Edwards was arrested at the scene and transported to the jail.
