LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The Lufkin Police department has released the name of the 55-year-old man killed in a one-vehicle accident on Old Mill Road on Thursday afternoon.
According to the police report, the man was identified as Alfred Gilder, of Lufkin. Authorities believe Gilder may have been having some kind of medical emergency when the wreck occurred.
"We have reason to suspect he was having a medical crisis, but we can't confirm that right now," said Lt. David Young of the Lufkin Police Department.
Sgt. David Casper said in a previous East Texas news story that it looks as though Gilder's car struck a tree in the 1600 block of old Mill Road at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
The crash is still under investigation at this time.
