ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Angelina County Sheriff's deputies arrested a couple Thursday after they had allegedly been fighting for several days.
The man and woman were going at it with a hammer and a knife when deputies arrived on the scene, according to an ACSO report.
Jade Rogers, 30, of Pollok, is still being held in the Angelina County Jail on a third-degree felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge. Her bail amount was set at $1,500.
Rexie Ray McMullen III, 22, of Lufkin, was booked into the Angelina County Jail on a misdemeanor assault charge. He was released from the jail later Thursday after he posted a bail amount of $1,500.
According to the sheriff's office report, the couple had been fighting for two days, when ACSO deputies were dispatched out to a home in the 300 block of Plantation Drive.
The report stated that McMullen slammed Rogers' head into a wall several times. Then, after they took a break, they started fighting again. This time, McMullen had a hammer and Rogers had a knife, the report stated.
Right before the deputies arrived on the scene, Rogers allegedly cut McMullen's thumb.
One of the deputies said in the report that it was obvious that the couple had been fighting for a while because there were broken dishes and holes in the home's sheetrock.
