Blackberries, pecans and more will be the topics of April's "Do It Yourself" seminar.

The Angelina County Extension office is preparing to teach East Texans how the make backyard orchards that will be successful in East Texas.

The seminar will also feature guest speaker, Greg Grant, the author of several agricultural books. The event will touch on bringing those fresh fruits and nuts right into your kitchens at the right times.

"Having your own orchard provides an immense deal of satisfaction, you can go out there and pull that fruit and gather those nuts, pick those berries, and walk right in your kitchen and enjoy them or sit in the back yard watching your neighbors! " said Cary Sims, the County Extension Agent for Ag. and Natural Resources.

If you would like to learn just what trees will blossom for you this season, the seminar will be held on April 20th at 6:30 p.m. at the Angelina County Extension office.

Tickets are ten dollars.

Timberland Nursery is now selling fruit trees for those who would like to start them.  The business will have them in stock until they run out.
