NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Cattle prices have been up for quite some time, so naturally, some people are thinking about entering into the prospect for the first time.
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension in Nacogdoches County wants to get you started the right way.
A three-part series on starting a cow herd will begin April 20th at 6 p.m.
Other classes will be the following Mondays.
"Right now with cattle prices the way they are, everybody looks at that and thinks it's the big lotto that they need to get into," said Ricky Thompson, the AgriLife county extension agent for Nacogdoches. "Well there's a few factors that they need to consider and some things that we maybe can offer to that person with some ideas and maybe give them a game plan."
Getting started, financial guidance, and management will be the topics.
The three-part series costs $20.
