LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - CHI St. Luke's Memorial honored some of their very own members for their decades of service on Thursday.
Six women in the spotlight have volunteered for a combined 185 years.
The Volunteer Auxiliary recognized their milestone at a luncheon.
Volunteers serve all over the medical center and have even purchased thousands of dollars of equipment for the hospital each year.
"They share their time with us - which is invaluable. They share all of their experience, all of their knowledge. So we're just very lucky to have all of them," said Sharon Kelley is Coordinator for CHI Volunteers.
There are two retiring as volunteers: Claire Herrick, who's served two decades, and Kay Wilkins, 21 years.
The other four are still volunteering.
- Anita Jackson - 40 years
- Elizabeth Hearne - 37 years
- Patsy Weems - 37 years
- Jody Gray - 31 years
