Lufkin Panther soccer player missing state tournament after sex assault arrest

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

A Lufkin High School soccer player is missing the state tournament following his arrest for sexual assault.

Xavier Reyes, 18, of Lufkin, is charged with second-degree sexual assault.

According to the Nacogdoches County grand jury indictment, Reyes sexually assaulted a woman on Feb. 26.

Lufkin ISD spokeswoman Sheila Adams confirmed Reyes is a member of the soccer team and did not play in Thursday's state semifinal game and will not play in the state championship on Saturday.
