WODEN, TX (KTRE) - When the Nacogdoches girls all stars take the court Monday against their rivals from Angelina County, they will do so with one goal; raise money for hearts.
The Nacogdoches girl all stars have chosen to play for the American Heart Association. The team chose the charity because of the importance of raining awareness about heart disease and the patients who are needing help.
"It means a lot more," Daisy Seqeda said."It Just shows you can play. It's even better like that."
"It's very important for people who don't have the money for surgeries or needing a transplant," Chelsea Barnes said. "It's important to help especially if we win the money."
If the Angelina Boys win over the Nacogdoches boys, then Habitat for Humanity will take home the profits from the game. The girls' game tips off at 6 p.m. followed by the boys. Admission is $5. Games will be played at Panther Gym.
